Before you book your Queensland driving test: 5 things to know
Booking your practical test is exciting, but there are a few rules to get right first.
1. Pass the hazard perception test first
If you hold a car learner licence, you must pass the hazard perception test before you can book your practical driving test.
2. Under 25? Your logbook must be approved
You can book once your logbook is approved. Submit it at least 12 business days before your test. See logbook hours explained.
3. How to book
Book and pay online with TMR, or by calling 13 23 80, or pay the fee and have your driver trainer book for you. Please check Henry’s availability before booking if you’d like the Test Day package.
4. Changing your booking
Reschedule at least 2 days before your test, or cancel at least 2 business days before, or you lose the booking fee.
5. If it doesn’t go to plan
There’s no limit on attempts, but you pay each time. After a failed class C test you can re-sit the next day (first attempt), 8 days later (second attempt) or 29 days later (third or later attempt). Before you leave, make sure you know exactly what went wrong.
Overseas licence holders: if you fail, you lose the right to drive on your overseas licence in Queensland. Read this first.
