What to bring to your Queensland driving test: a checklist
Turning up without the right things can mean losing your test and your booking fee. Use this checklist the night before.
The checklist
- Your learner logbook is approved by TMR (under 25s). Submit it at least 12 business days before your test.
- You’ve passed the hazard perception test (needed before you can book).
- Arrive 20 minutes before your test time and register inside with a customer service officer.
- Bring your licence. A Queensland Digital Licence is fine, but your phone must be off during the test (keep it charged).
- Bring proof of identity (overseas licence holders need full evidence of identity).
- A registered, roadworthy test car with L-plates correctly displayed, its registration number, and the owner’s permission to use it. With our Test Day package, that’s Henry’s car.
- A current medical certificate, if you have a medical condition that may affect your driving.
- Expect about 25–35 minutes of on-road driving for a car (class C) test.
- Blind-spot mirrors and reverse cameras don’t replace head checks: you must still look over your shoulder and all around.

On the day
Go inside and register with a customer service officer when you arrive. If the centre isn’t open yet (for example an 8 am test, or before 9:30 am on a Wednesday), wait outside the entrance for the examiner.
The examiner explains everything before you start. Once the test begins they can’t answer questions that might influence your driving, and they’ll never ask you to do anything illegal or unsafe.
Things that lose your test fee
- Arriving late
- Not meeting the logbook requirements
- Not having the owner’s permission to use the car
- A test car that isn’t safe and suitable
If you pass
Pay the licence fee, take off your L-plates before you leave, and display your P-plates. You’ll get a receipt that lets you drive until your licence arrives in the mail.
Want it all sorted? Our Test Day package includes a two-hour lesson right before your test and the car for the test. See our Brisbane test centre guide.
